Gottlieb Vision Group

ABOUT OUR FACILITY

Gottlieb Vision Group’s modern eye care facilities are designed and equipped to provide for the complete vision needs of the entire family including infants, children, and adults.  Most  of our patients have been referred by other doctors, professionals, and members of our patient families.  The consultation/technology center, which is our main facility in Stone Mountain, was carefully designed to allow for the most complete diagnosis and treatment of visual disorders.  It has state-of-the art equipment used in every aspect of our full scope of care.  Here we serve patients who are interested in receiving the most thorough eye health evaluation and who may need glasses and/or contact lenses.  We also conduct extensive consultations for children and adults who are experiencing vision related learning difficulties, those suffering vision loss due to stroke and accident, and those who are facing visual challenges that have not been met by other practitioners. We provide treatment for glaucoma patients, those experiencing minor eye injuries, infections or other ocular diseases, and pre and post operative care for patients who desire refractive surgery  as well as those needing cataract surgery. Vision therapy, vision rehabilitation, and sports vision therapy are provided at this location.

Our consultation center in Duluth serves the needs of those from north Atlanta and our neighbors in the surrounding Southeastern states  who have needs beyond  that of a “routine” eye examination.  It is designed for the preliminary evaluation of patients with low vision, vision related learning difficulties, and vision related sports performance issues. Depending on what other testing has been conducted, sometimes a visit to our technology center is required to complete all aspects of a consultation.  Vision therapy, vision rehabilitation and sports vision therapy sessions are conducted at this location.

Our Services

We offer an insightful  comprehensive visual analysis which includes a thorough eye health evaluation, glaucoma pressure check, visual field neurological analysis, refractive analysis, and binocular vision assessment.  We also provide emergency eye care services.

When to Consult with Us

You should consult with us immediately when the following symptoms are present:

·         Infants with apparent visual problems

·         Frequent headaches and eye discomfort during reading, computer use, or daily work tasks

·         Double or blurred vision at distance or near

·         Burning, tearing, itching or reddened eyes

·         Sudden or transient loss or change of vision

·         Trauma or injury to the eyes or head

·         Light sensitivity and glare disability

·         Color perception deficiencies

·         Head turns or tilts

·         Dislike for tasks requiring visual concentration

·         Frequent loss of place during reading

·         Letter reversals, word inversions, or other signs of a visually related learning disability

Since many school screenings and physicals only check the ability to see a chart at a distance of 20 feet, we recommend annual vision exams for most of our patients.  Preschoolers by the age of three, even with no apparent problems, should have a complete visual examination.  Our commitment is to ensure optimum visual and performance abilities for all of our patients.

FEES

This practice is maintained on the basis of fees for services rendered. Payment is required by the patient at the end of each visit. When we reserve appointments for consultations, which require a significant amount of time and commitment from doctors and staff, a deposit is required. It is our policy to always discuss the fees at your first visit to our office and answer any questions that you might have at that time.

INSURANCE

Services required by many of our patients, including vision therapy, visual rehabilitation, and contact lenses for the treatment of disease and management of disease conditions, are generally covered major medical expenses.  Routine eye exams and glasses are generally not covered by insurance companies unless there exists a specific vision care program. New guidelines under Medicare and major medical insurance covers the eye health portion of the office visits.  Please ask our treatment coordinator how to submit your insurance claim for reimbursement.
